Minimal Cosmetics

Full Brand Development from Scratch

As part of my final project for my degree in Marketing, Advertising, and PR, I created Minimal Cosmetics from 2019 to 2020. This project emerged from the growing societal need for zero-waste makeup and cosmetic brands that prioritize environmental care, especially during a time when such options were limited.

Addressing the Plastic Packaging Crisis

This project addresses the significant issue of plastic use in makeup and cosmetic packaging. Many brands claim to be zero waste, yet often still incorporate recyclable plastics, which contribute to environmental harm. Minimal Cosmetics is dedicated to eliminating all plastic, including microplastics.

The brand focuses on utilizing existing natural resources, transforming them into effective products without chemical alteration. By consolidating multiple benefits into a single product, Minimal aims to reduce excessive consumerism and environmental waste, offering consumers an eco-friendly alternative without compromising quality.

My involvement

As the sole creator of Minimal Cosmetics, I undertook the full development of the brand. My responsibilities included:

  • Brand Ideation: Developing the brand’s mission and values, identifying the target audience, and defining the product line.

  • Market Research: Conducting surveys and interviews to understand customer preferences and industry trends.

  • Product Design: Creating the logo, mockups for product labels and packaging that align with the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

  • E-commerce Development: Designing a user-friendly website to showcase the products and facilitate online sales.

  • Marketing Strategy: Crafting a comprehensive marketing plan and launch strategy, including social media outreach and influencer partnerships.

Conclusion

Minimal Cosmetics represents a pivotal step towards a more sustainable future in the beauty industry. By prioritizing natural ingredients and eliminating all forms of plastic packaging, this brand not only addresses the pressing environmental challenges of today but also empowers consumers to make eco-conscious choices.

 

Through innovative product design and a commitment to zero waste, Minimal aspires to lead the way in transforming the cosmetics landscape, fostering a culture of responsibility and sustainability that benefits both people and the planet.
